Description: A critical examination of the relationship between religion and politics from a comparative per- spective. Studies politicization of religion in political issues such as secularism, gender rights, minority rights, terrorism, civil conflict, foreign policy, political Islam, and Christian democracy. May be taken Satisfactory(S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 8 units.
