Prerequisites: graduate standing; consent of instructor

Description: Covers major areas necessary for the successful completion of a Ph.D. in observational cosmology. Includes review of current literature; choice and preparation of telescope time proposals; data acquisition and reduction; analysis and publication of results; and presentations at work- shops and conferences. Students who present a semi- nar or submit a term paper receive a letter grade; other students receive a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade. Course is repeatable. Wilson
