Description: A comprehensive exploration of the major biogeo- chemical cycles at and near Earth’s surface. Emphasis is on microbially mediated cycling of ele- ments and isotopes within diverse sedimentary envi- ronments and the cause-and-effect relationships with the ocean and atmosphere. Explores 4 billion years of biospheric evolution in light of these cycles.
