Description: Studies revenues, expenditures, and tax policies of the federal government, focusing on causes and consequences of federal deficit spend- ing. Topics include discretionary and mandatory spending (social security benefits, Medicare, etc.), tax credits and loopholes, debt finance, the life-cycle hypothesis of saving, and the burden of the national debt.
