Description: Introduces the histo- ry of the Great Migration (approximately 1910-1950) and the spiritual, occupational, and cultural diversifi- cation that ensued. Explores the impact of dislocation and urbanization on black religious and artistic pro- duction. Topics include the religious marketplace; Exodus theme, Stranger and Home; impact of com- mercial culture on identity; and class and culture intersections among migrants.
