Description: Surveys major theo- retical approaches to the study of American politics and enduring research questions in the field. Topics vary and could include the politics of race and ethnicity, the historical development of government institutions, political parties, voting behavior, federalism, and the policy-making process in the United States. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeat- able as content changes to a maximum of 8 units.
