Prerequisites: graduate standing; consent of instructor

Description: Explores current techniques of microscopy. Covers optical and electron microscopy and novel techniques of scanning microscopy such as scanning tunneling microscopy, near-field scanning optical microscopy, and atomic force microscopy.
