Description: Wave propagation in nonlinear media. Electro-optic effect, three- and four-wave mixing, high-resolution nonlinear spectroscopies, rare atom and molecule detection, laser manipulation of particles, high-intensi- ty laser physics, laser-plasma interactions. Letter grades are assigned to students whose research is related to atomic, molecular, or optical physics. Other students receive either a letter or
