Description: Introduction to the metropolis Berlin as gateway between the East and West. Explores topog- raphy of the city through film, art, music, and literary texts. A study of Berlin’s dramatic transformations as a microcosm of Germany and Europe’s troubled histo- ry in the twentieth century. Course is conducted in English. Cross-listed with AHS 120, CPLT 110B, EUR 110B, and GER 110B. Fulfills the Humanities require- ment for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
