Description: Introduction to the history of work, workers and their families, communities, organi- zations, unions, and workers’ organizations in the United States from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. Attention is paid to gender, race, immigration, and diversity of the work force, and role of govern- ment, within an economic and international context.
