Description: An overview of fundamental limitations imposed on communication systems. Topics include Shannon’s information meas- ures, weak and strong typicality, lossless data com- pression, source and channel models and Shannon’s coding theorems, channel capacity and the rate-dis- tortion function, Gaussian sources and channels, and limits of communication between multiple terminals.
