Description: Introduces stu- dents to the organization and governance of higher education. Covers diverse forms of organization and governance in contemporary public and private higher education in the United States. Also addresses alter- native theoretical frames through which to view post- secondary governance structures (both internal and external to institutions). EDUC 248-I. Critical Issues in Higher Education (4) Seminar, 3 hours; term paper, 3 hours. Prerequisite(s): graduate standing or consent of instructor. Examines internal and external issues that face higher education institutions.
