Description: A number of African cultures are carefully examined in terms of three or four anthropological topics, such as: subsistence patterns, social organization, and religious systems. The treatment of these cultures follows a brief overview of the geography, history, and linguistic patterns of Africa. ANTH 140-I. Anthropological interpretations of culture and society in southeast Asia, including Indonesia; topics include prehistory, ethnic groups, social organization and structure, human ecology, folk and high culture, etc.
