Description: Covers ethno- graphic, anthropological, and other cultural approach- es to the study of religion. Traces emergence of the cultural study of religion from colonial encounters to current-day ethnographies of religion. Evaluates risks and promises of ethnography for the study of religion. Includes ethnographic project.
