Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: Intensive reading of one or more great political thinkers from around the world, with special attention to methodolo- gies of research and interpretation. Examples might include Plato, Confucius, Machiavelli, Marx and Engels, John Stuart Mill, or Gandhi. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 8 units.
