Description: Radiative transfer of continuum and line radiation, Einstein coefficients, photoionization equilib- ria, radiation by free electrons, bremsstrahlung and synchrotron emission, Compton and inverse Compton scattering, wave propagation through magnetized plasmas, atomic and molecular structure and spectra, atomic fine structure, and molecular hyperfine lines. Letter grades are assigned to students whose research is related to astrophysics. Other students receive either a letter or
