Prerequisites: upper- division standing or consent of instructor

Description: Examines media representations of women and violence. Topics include feminist and queer theory, pornography, sexu- al violence, state violence, censorship, militarization, policing, and intersections with race, ethnicity, class, sexualities, and citizenship. Analyzes cinema, televi- sion, video, gaming, digital, print, and other visual and acoustic media. Course repeatable as topics change to a maximum of 12 units. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
