Description: Examines the growth and evolu- tion of self-trained African American intellectuals and activists from the late nineteenth century to the 1980s. Analyzes ideas, contributions, and worldviews of selected street scholars pertaining to the destiny and direction of race struggle in America, the Caribbean, and Africa. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
