Description: Analysis of spoken discourse in classrooms and other learning contexts to study social, cognitive, polit- ical, and historical aspects of teaching and learning; teacher-student relationships; schooling; and literacy acquisition. Topics include speaker-listener relation- ships, the social construction of educational roles, and discourse indicators of student development.
