Description: An introduc- tion to poetry, fiction, or nonfiction. Utilizes reading, commentary, and criticism in one of these three genres. Fosters exploration of the diversity of literary styles. Promotes awareness of the aesthetic, cultural, and personal resonances of artistic choices.
