Description: Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), an Irish, feminist, aesthete, socialist, homosexual Victorian author, becomes a focus for the study of late Victorian theatre and culture. Readings are of Wilde’s plays and nondramatic writings and plays by related playwrights such as Ibsen and Shaw.
