Description: Surveys major theo- retical approaches to the study of American politics and enduring research questions in the field. Topics vary and could include the politics of race and ethnici- ty, the historical development of government institu- tions, political parties, voting behavior, federalism, and the policy-making process in the United States. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with con- sent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 8 units.
