Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: Examines the politics of race, immigration, and ethnicity in the United States, including compar- isons to ethnic politics in other regions of the world. Emphasizes the role of political institutions and processes in making race, immigration, and ethnicity more or less salient in elections, legislation, social movements, and interpersonal and intergroup rela- tions. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 8 units.
