Description: A com- parative analysis of the major trends in Latin American economies in the twentieth century. Topics include historical legacies, primary export economies, the the- ory and practice of import substitution industrializa- tion, the debt crisis, stabilization and structural adjust- ment, poverty and income distribution, the informal sector, the agricultural sector, and the environment.
