Description: Introduces students to two-dimensional, digitally based “drawing”, “painting”, and printing (nonphoto- graphic) as well as digital software such as Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand and Corel Painter to create “paintings” without the use of traditional paint. Examines the relation of this “new” medium to tradi- tional painting and drawing. Explores the interaction among painting, photography, and digital media. Normally graded Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC), but students may petition the instructor for a letter grade on the basis of assigned extra work or examina- tion.
