Prerequisites: AHS 017B or AHS 017C or upper-division standing or consent of instructor
Description: A study of the dominant trends and figures of the Italian, French, Spanish, Flemish, and Dutch Baroque, including Caravaggio, Bernini, Velazquez, and Rembrandt. Emphasis is on such issues as the development of illusionistic ceiling decoration, the the- oretical basis of Baroque art, and the sacred and political uses of art.
