[Bio]

Adriano Macchietto is a Ph.D graduate student in the Riverside Graphics Lab at the University of California, Riverside. Adriano's research interests are predominantly motivated by his early childhood fascination with complex, autonomous virtual worlds (i.e. videogames). His research interests are broad and predominantly driven by the desire to develop techniques to create more engaging virtual sandbox environments. Current research interests (although not necessarily active) include the synthesis of virtual character motion through physics-based models, simulation of mechanical systems, and reinforcement learning techniques. Other hobbies include Linux system administration, learning new software construction and engineering techniques, open-source software, social news sites, Freenode, and multiplayer FPS/strategy games.
