Course Description:

This course is an overview of basic history and culture of China.  Students in this course will learn about the historical settings and the various forms of government throughout history. Students will also learn and become proficient in the culture of China (art history, language, etc.).

Book Required:

Course-pack, available from your instructor.

Course Requirements:

1. Students will complete a project that involves researching a specific topic (chosen by the student and approved by the professor) on the history and/or culture of China. Students must also present this project to other students as a PowerPoint slideshow.  This project is 30% of the total grade for the class.

2. Students will take 4 quizzes during the course of the semester, each counting 10% of the total grade for the course.

3. Students will take a midterm and a final exam, each counting 15% of the grade for the class.
