About Me
Hello, my name is Jim Herold. I earned my BS in computer science from Cal Poly Pomona in 2008 and currently pursue my PhD in the same field at University of California, Riverside. Further experience in my field encompasses internship at Jet Propulsion Laboratories where I developed a lightweight rover mission simulator, and a summer of research at Harvey Mudd where I applied data mining techniques to music. Whenever free time comes up I play as much music as possible and enjoy programming pet projects.
Research
I enjoy working in the Smart Tools Lab under the advisement of Dr. Thomas Stahovich. I am currently studying multimodal human computer interaction, focusing on correlations between user pen and speech input that may assist in sketch understanding.
