Lab Manual: GO! with MS Office 2007, Introductory, Custom Edition for the UCR, by Gaskin

Major rules:

Labs are worth 20 points (5 points for attendance;15 points for work)
Must be in lab in the first 20 minutes to receive 5 points for attendance.
If you miss a lab, then please bring a document that explains why you missed the lab, i.e. a doctor's note if you were sick.
Make sure you are satisfied with your grades before the deadline for changing grades on the class website. After the deadline no change can be done. Remind me if forget to upload/modify your grade.
Please show me your lab before leaving otherwise you won't receive any credit for the lab.
All labs should be done in the section that you are enrolled in. If you want to do a lab in another section try to do that with me, I am TAing two sections. If you do a lab with some other TA then inform me beforehand and tell him/her email me your score and make sure it is done before the deadline.

How to open a CS account:

Go to http://www1.cs.ucr.edu/index.php and click Request Account at the bottom left. Or go to https://csedept.cs.ucr.edu/account/new_account/
Give your Student ID, Permanent PIN and Date of Birth. You will get your password.
Write down your password.

How to access MS Office 2007 from Linux in the LAB:

You have to first log in to Linux operating system. Right click on the desktop. Open Terminal.
Type windows and press enter. Windows log in screen will show up.
Enter your user name and password. You are logged into windows.
Now from the left side of the windows taskbar, point to and then click the start button.
From the displayed start menu, locate the Word program, and then click Microsoft Office Word 2007.

Some things to note:

Download files using Mozilla Firefox
Right click the file and select "Save Target As" or "Save Link As"
Add extension name to the end of file name, such as "docx","xlsx", "accdb", or "pptx"
