The following videos are example of some
resulting animation from my master project ?œHair Simulation using Spring Mass
Model.??The basic idea of the project is to combine the idea of spring-mass and
wisp model that are used frequently in computer graphic to model the complexity
of hair in a way that will give realistic movement without unnecessarily calculation.
A mop with its movement simulated using the
spring mass model. Bending is corrected by adding extra spring between every
other masses.
A simulation of hair movement in air when
struck by an object(ball).
Using the same spring mass model, we simulate
the movement of a pair of ears on a character?™s head that move up and down.
