Computer Science 8 - Lab 7 HTML

Introduction

In this week's lab you are going to do more with hyperlinks.

A mailto hyperlink is similar to a normal hyperlink except that when clicked on, an e-mail window appears with an e-mail address already filled in (assuming you have a default e-mail program on your computer).

An anchor marks a specific location on a web page. An anchor can be used in a hyperlink to not only take you to a certain web page, but to a certain spot on that page.

The <a> tag is used to create these, just as it is used to create a normal hyperlink. However, different attributes are used to specify a mailto or anchor.

Adding the Tags

Add a new paragraph to the very bottom of your web page containing a mailto link. It should be similar to the following:

To contact me, click here.

However, here should be a mailto hyperlink with your cs8 e-mail address.

Right above the new paragraph you just added, add an anchor.

At the very top of your page, add another new paragraph with a hyperlink to the anchor containing the phrase Contact Info.
